After the tutorial I had with Kate, I explained how I thought that from my ideas my samples came out a tad flat and empty. Id written notes down on what she said, and decided I needed to be more sort of 'Adventurous' with my ideas and work.
What I took away from what she said to me is that taking risks is part of what we do and whether good or bad its a learning curve.
I collaged some of the patterns I had made, I cut them in strips and swapped the order of them, flipped them round and pushed them out of the norm. On top of doing that I also really liked the idea of layering them up and seeing what they looked like together, with that when I take them to making my samples I am going to use bondaweb to layer them up and have the same sort of effect. See what sort of slicing and dicing I can do to the fabric as well to bring more interest to the samples.
