1.3.2. 3Dimensional.
With weave I wanted to find a way of making my pieces more that just a flat pretty looking sample, I wanted to bring dimension, texture and also pattern.
I looked at a few Weave Manipulation techniques such as; Leno, Brookes bouquet and Danish Medallion, so I could incorporate to create my patterns as well as bring a different sort of texture to them.
Of course with all this I have been thinking about bring different elements of what I have learn in the past to bring to my samples and use to my advantage, Such as Knitting. I have been using yarn knitted into fine tubes and weaving them in and creating loops and elements of my choice with them. Also I was thinking about introducing some Cornely and Hand stitch into some of them that are completely finished.
After the talk we had from V.V Rouleaux it inspired me to be more creative in the way I am creating my samples and to the approach I take to making, some of the materials she used in her processes definitely made me think twice and make me want to improve on quality of fabric, threads and yarn.
After speaking with my tutor we agreed that I still don't think I have the colour proportion right and I am really wanted to make my surface plainer to bring the pop of the shape back into the samples, so that there is still an essence of art deco mixed with my patterns. Over all a lot of work to do.
