1.1.2 Repetition

After the group discussion and with my lecturer advice I took my drawings to the computer and scanned them in. Taking a drawing I had the idea to repeat and see if it helped in any way for things such as colour proportion, Yarn textures and my section of colours.
I think the last one I messed around with really brought the whole process together and opened up my ideas. Seeing how when the image is squashed it is easy to pull out the colours and determine the proportions in which they should be.
Something I am definitely going to apply to some of my other images and see where else editing them will take me.

1.1.1 Colour Proportion

Choosing a colour palette, I find myself gravitating more towards neutral grey tone colours, Yes they maybe different shades of greys from light blues to the dark spectrum, I really want to find the pop of colour to bring out interest in my work.
Finding the right colour proportion to set out and have each colour stand out in its own way.
The idea of repetition in my proportions and pattern in my weave is something I really would like to do,  But with some sort of twist. For now, finding the right selection of colours is still pending.

1.1.0 Experimental Drawing

This was picked because of how well I feel the colours work together and compliment each other, from  dark to the lightest colour. I feel that it has texture to the plain newspaper page and change the whole picture.
I improve on this by making it deeper and darker in colour, creating more colour and shape to the drawing.

The simplicity of this drawing is what stood out most to me, that they are not just lines they form the image really well. That it looks so messy but within it all you can still see what it forms as a drawing.
If I was to build on this drawing I would to have a bigger range of felts and markers to bring to picture to life more and shadow.

The textures of the different medias I used in this drawing I find most interesting, that they all bring there own feature to the picture as a whole, down to every detail of the oil bar and pencil creating details in the bars. To the mix match background it is drawn upon.
I would love to add with more different medias such as stitch, creating more texture and depth to drawing.

This was a favourite technique that a was recently taught, just the simple pencil on black card creating something so effective and different. I cant wait to try this out with a reoccurring pattern and see what kind of effect I would get out of that.

I really love the black and white contrast working with black ink and white paper. Making the drawing sharper.
If I were to change the drawing I would add shading and shadows, maybe with 4b or 5b, or even go back in with inks, black, grey and white, still keeping it neutral but adding interest.

This last one was the most challenging to draw, but I liked the fact I had to change and think about what type of pencil I needed to use and for what section.
I would really love to add ink and bero to the darker places, building on the shading adding depth and more sharpness to the drawing.
