1.2.3 Mapping My Journey.

I wanted to a lot more with mapping my location and creating my own pattern, but in a way that it was unknown to me how it would turn out until I go to my computer.
With the first few patterns I made and was playing round with were just things I liked and capturing interests. I was quite unsure how to keep going with this.
I travel over 100 miles a day to uni and back, along the coast up into Manchester and I wanted to use it to my advantage, collecting my own travel data. I played round with taking photos at each of the train stations I stopped at, the journey from the train station to uni. Finding surfaces from the train stain to uni to do rubbings on to collect what I saw and pinning down the stops that I did, not really knowing how or what it would all turn out like in the end.
Taking what I had come out with to my laptop and coming out with the pins that created my own little pattern.
I want to take this further, Making my own collection of patterns, Going to the coast where the train I get runs along, then maybe to the other spectrum of the journey and do the same in Llandudno. See what I can come up with over all.

1.2.2 Through my Eyes.

I took the photos I took in the 'mapping and measuring' task, and there wasn't much I could do with them when I was home, I could remember what part of which I looked at first. So I decided to take another approach to this. On my phone it tracks where on the map I take my photos, so I thought I should use this to my advantage,  working on the patterns of the pins and adding, flipping, rotating and grouping the pins together creating different kinds of patterns.
I included my route from my home to the place I took the pictures and the even the floor plan to add interest and difference to some of the patterns. I really want to evolve this idea going out and creating my own pins on purpose to see what I get and bringing something more to it.

1.2.1 Beginnings of Ideas

For research I took myself to a couple museums, one of them being The Museum of Science and Industry in manchester, Which I found really interesting with old fashioned machines and from that, I in my drawings I added detail to what I spent most time looking at, I particularly liked the more patterned and detailed machines.
Also I visited the Manchester City Art Museum, Which at the time had the Grayson Perry Exhibition up, and with not actually seeing his work before, I rather enjoyed, I spent more time on drawing the patterns in his work and the smaller finer details, like back ground flowers or the pattern of the clothing he had chosen. I found his work to be really detailed. I think I am starting to gather quite a good theme and beginning to my sketchbook for the next world.

1.1.8 Discussions

After the discussions I had with the girls form the other Textile Worlds and seeing their work and the outcome of what they did I feel Like I have chosen the right 2 worlds to go into, I feel like now they are definitely the right worlds for me and i feel like that has proved it for me.

Another point that come across my mind is that, I felt like I had a lot more and developed my sketch book and ideas a lot more than any other the other girls and it showed in our marks, and it makes me feel like I am doing the right thing, going at the right pace and its showing in my marks at the end.  Obviously it something I want to keep on improving, to get better and raise the bar for myself in developing, producing and time keeping.
I know from a few of the girls said that they didn't use there studio time well and rushed and struggled in at the end and its something they know they don't want to be doing next time, I feel like it I get on top of everything I want to be doing at home and in uni using my studio time well I will never get in that predicament.
Over all It made me feel how I had been working in the last unit was reasonably well compare to the others. I wasn't as stressed and I got my work done. So more or less of the same in the next unit I hopefully.
